The Magic Garden
A boy discovers that his grandmother's garden has a secret.
Every summer, Leo visits his grandmother. She lives in a small house with a big garden. The garden has flowers of every color: red, yellow, blue, and purple. "Grandma, why is your garden so beautiful?" asks Leo. His grandmother smiles. "I talk to the flowers every day," she says. "And I sing to them." Leo laughs. "Flowers can't hear music!" "Try it," says his grandmother. The next morning, Leo goes to the garden. He sits next to a small plant with no flowers. He feels silly, but he starts to sing a simple song. Nothing happens. He sings again the next day. And the next day. And the next day. On the fifth day, Leo sees something. The small plant has a tiny flower. It is bright blue, like the sky. "Grandma! Come look!" he shouts. His grandmother comes to the garden. She sees the blue flower and smiles. "You see? The garden listens." Leo spends the rest of the summer singing in the garden. By the end of August, it is the most beautiful garden in the town.
